Peter Landi: Navigating the Unknown Through Sound

Peter Landi’s musical journey has been anything but ordinary. The Long Island-born, Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist has built a career fueled by relentless passion and adaptability. From gritty basement shows in New York to global tours with a host of dynamic acts, Landi has carved out a space defined by authenticity and raw talent.

After settling in Toronto nearly a decade ago, Landi became a pivotal force in the Canadian punk scene, joining Single Mothers and contributing his powerhouse drumming to projects like Julianna Riolino, Espanola, and Eamon McGrath. But it was the stillness of March 2020 that led him down a new creative path. With tours halted, he revisited his demos, igniting a deeply personal songwriting era.

His debut single, High, landed in the IFC slasher hit In a Violent Nature, setting the stage for his latest release, Somewhere. The track channels the disorienting uncertainty of life during the pandemic, blending emotional candor with expansive sonic textures.

It’s a love letter to resilience—rooted in the long, aimless walks he took with his partner when stability felt like a distant dream. They had no clear destination, just the comfort of facing the unknown together—a sentiment beautifully captured in Landi’s evocative soundscape.

With Somewhere, Landi reminds us that even in uncertain times, music can be a map guiding us through the fog.
