- Desert Island Cloud WIINSTON Returns with New Electro-Pop Single ‘Blue’ and Innovative EP Concept ‘SKITZO’

WIINSTON, the Copenhagen-based R&B-pop duo, returns this Autumn with the release of their new single, “blue”, an infectious electro-pop track that offers a taste of their upcoming EP concept, “SKITZO”. Dropping on September 13th, this single comes hot on the heels of last year’s critically acclaimed album, The Last Daytona, and continues to push the boundaries of their unique sound.

Known for their refusal to conform to industry norms, WIINSTON—made up of singer Daniel Richards and producer Alfred Thomas—constantly challenge their artistic limits. “There’s a fine line between mainstream and anti-commercial,” Richards says. “Blue” straddles that line with a tongue-in-cheek hook that’s both sarcastic and sophisticated, embodying their penchant for bold and colorful sonic experimentation.

What makes the upcoming “SKITZO” project truly innovative is its dual-sided approach. “It’s an EP-concept where every WIINSTON release comes with an A- and B-side using the same lyrics and melody but interpreted with completely different musical expressions,” Thomas explains. The full project is set to drop in early 2025, promising a fresh and genre-bending experience.

WIINSTON’s journey began in 2017 when they signed with Capitol Records in LA, and since then, the duo has delivered a diverse discography. From the dark, urban tones of Midnight Rocket (2018) to the dreamy acoustics of Jellyfish (2019), WIINSTON has shown an unrelenting drive to reinvent their sound. After a four-year break, they made their grand return in 2023 with The Last Daytona, which received widespread attention with tracks like care4 and tick in blue.
