Not Thinking Of Home attempts to convey what it feels like to forever have something be a part of your life even if you don’t want it there, whether that’s through the ever-present consequences or simply reminders of a trauma, and the perceived perpetual threat of a return to those times.

Discussing the single, Iain Gorrie said; “The sentiment behind the chorus and mid-8 serves as a way of grounding oneself through the more positive constants in your life and getting the trauma to a safe distance. We recorded this one a year before the rest of the album as a means to test some sonic waters and try out a different approach to that we’d used for the previous E.P.”

Not Thinking Of Home arrives a few months ahead of the release of Our Nameless Boy’s Debut Album, Colour From The Doves, a sincere and difficult reflection on a year that songwriter Iain Gorrie spent recovering from a life threatening disease. Much like its subject matter, the album is orderless and unpredictable in it’s delivery, with a purposefully scattered narrative and sonics that will at times haunt and at others overwhelm.

Inspired by the emotionally charged ‘quiet/loud’ frenetic dynamics of the late ‘90s/‘00s US alternative scene, Our Nameless Boy bring their own brand of raucous energy to their performances, with songs that are both hard-hitting and subtle in their intricacies.
