Enfant Terrible are an indie Alt-Folk band based in Devon, UK. They blend guitars, harp, trumpet, keyboards and vocal harmonies to perform poignant songs full of subtlety and tenderness.
The songs on L’air du Temps deal with themes such as confusing feelings, toxic masculinity, grief and the anaesthetic effects technology can have on our lives. Debut single “Theodore” takes inspiration from The Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Goldfinch by Donna Tarrt. It recounts the moment in the book where Boris and Theodore are living in an abandoned housing complex on the edge of Vegas, dodging their father’s dangerous habits, while coming to terms with their feelings for each other and the world around them.
L’air du Temps was intended as the debut EP by UK indie-folk band Enfant Terrible. However, during the lockdown, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Matthew Street changed course for the band by writing and producing the Domestique EP from his home in Devon. Totalling just under 9 minutes, Domestique is a 3 part song cycle including field recordings, soundscapes and film footage from the home and the local environment.
