Sgmaniak (pronounced S. G. Maniak) is an artist from Gainesville, Florida, who moved to New York by way of Nashville. His sophomore album ‘Maniak’ was as confessional as it was experimental, moving effortlessly between college heartache and real-world ennui.
Self-produced in his bedroom, ‘Maniak’ struck a chord, earning fans in the diverse Brooklyn music scene as well as listeners around the globe. Sgmaniak’s upcoming single “Moonlight Feel” steps into new territory, delivering a dazzling upbeat take on heavy themes like longing and escape. Sgmaniak is a new kid on the block, but he’s already ready for the early success that will come his way.
“Moonlight Feel” is entirely self-produced and performed by Sgmaniak (except for drums). Inspired by the spiralling guitar melodies of Weird Fishes, the song was initially much softer and more ambient. But after tracking drums in a basement studio in Queens, the song packed a real punch.
