Latir is a London-based alternative RnB artist with an avant-garde style, fusing together his love for hip hop, old school jazz, indie and electronic music. He’s an old soul with the expression of a young spirit, as heard through his timeless, uplifting melodies, and through his generously thought out narratives. Generally inspired by youth culture, trends in fashion, all things outdoors, a heavy amount of travelling, live performances and all things love; his own art carries a soulful and energetic charisma that effortlessly transcends.

Latir grew up on the fringe of North West London, surrounded by noughties RnB, a rise in grime and the latter end of garage and jungle. He and his siblings were raised around music, pushed into church and school choirs by his music-loving parents whilst also playing his clarinet in school, as well as local bands and orchestras, leading him to travel with his local band all around Europe, all before the age of 18.

Whilst finding his own sound, he wrote and recorded tracks with the likes of Tokio Myers, Krept and Konan, and Kojey Radical. Slowly cementing his position as one of the go-to writers and vocalists in London. He has independently had his first few singles played on BBC 1 Radio, premiered by the likes of COMPLEX, CLASH, SBTV, and Lyrical Lemonade.

He now embarks on the beginning of his musical journey in project form, blending together all his musical loves, to form a musical journey… which can only be described as is stylishly stated on his artwork, “SENTIMENTAL ADVISORY, MELANCHOLIC CONTENT”.

His influences growing up, including Chet Baker, Nick Hakim, Nat King Cole, Frank Ocean, Puma Blue, King Krule, Miguel, and the list continues!

In closing, Latir says:

“I really want to make music that affects people, inspired by their moments… whether it’s love or other stuff… my aim is to transcend people now and forever, to make them really relate, and feel. In the most nostalgic, melancholic, chill way ever.”
