Hollowlove

“Particle & Wave” is off the just-released, self-titled Hollowlove album (5/1 release). It’s heavy in both sound and topic, finding hope to move past loneliness via a quantum physics analogy. Modular synths and 808s clash with Bonham-style live drums, impossibly lush pads, and scintillating arpeggios while Ryan’s vocals drip with emotion.

Hollowlove’ is the debut album from Hollowlove, Vancouver’s moody electro-pop duo.10 tracks of mid-tempo electropop, described by Indie Band Guru as “ambient pop with breathy vocals over synths & tribal rhythms.” Stand-out tracks include strings-led opener “Hazard Lights”, video game make-up sex anthem “Reset” (track 2), & the anti-Trump anthem that made The Sol Of Synthpop’s ‘Top 5 of 2018’, “Serpentine” (track 6).
