Jong SL’s tranquil and melodic “Paralyzed” exudes a twinkling pop feel amidst lush vocals and twangy guitars.

Jong SL is a singer/songwriter from Buffalo, New York. He moved to the U.S. at a young age from South Korea, and is now located in Toronto, Canada.

“Lyrically, it’s the struggle of the inner-self trying to escape the feeling of entrapment,” Jong SL says. “In the last chorus, the listener is given hope as the song resolves.” 

Themes of “feeling distant” are frequent in his material, with lyrics often emitting a feeling of eventual hope, which effectively conjures a supportive feeling. Somewhere between the jangly melancholy of Mac Demarco’s more subdued tracks and Coldplay’s rainy-day pop magic, Jong SL is crafting very memorable tunes like “Paralyzed.”
