Heart and Bladder
Vinius is the project of San Francisco-based TV/film composer Devin Farney, whose new album ‘Heart And Bladder’ touts warmly evolving textures, heavy on atmosphere and consuming melodic shifts.
“The name Vinius was informally given to me years ago by friends – partly derived from "Devin”, but mostly derived from my obsession with Red Vines,“ Devin explains.
For whatever reason, I felt this moniker felt oddly appropriate for ‘Heart And Bladder,’ a collection of songs that somewhat deal with an obsession to their own unique extents.
"The most obvious example of this theme is probably "How Much Would It Take” – an ode to cyberstalking (although the main character here is emphatic that he/she would never take the stalking beyond the confines of a computer – “I would not go there.”).
The 10 songs on ‘Heart And Bladder’ were written over a span of several years, but they were all recorded over the course of a 6-month period.
