Hailing from the South Bay of Los Angeles, Mad Hawkes is all hair, sweat, and beers. She’s unafraid to speak her mind through raw, honest lyrics leaving your body in a sweat and your mind in a daze.

While interning at Parts + Labor Records in Venice Beach, Maddi immersed herself in songwriting. It was here that label owner/producer Jimmy Messer (AWOLNATION, Kygo, Kelly Clarkson) encouraged her to tap into her truth and write with passionate, emotional honesty. The music that arose carries themes of both angst and heartache. Pairing dismal lyrics with upbeat melodies seems to be a favorite for Mad Hawkes. She never fails to shock by flaunting her flaws revealing herself readily available for judgment. Her first single “Fantasy” dropped in January 2018, delivered by a Consequence of Sound premiere.

Maddi labels her sound “Babe Rock” citing Karen O and Amy Winehouse as strong, confident women with attitudes. She empowers her listeners by being honest about her mistakes, by not wearing an emotional mask and by vocalizing her heartbreak.
