Byron Bay producer-turned-solo artist, Huey Blue – the man behind the music for so many local artists – is set to release his debut album, Friday Anxiety. Having showcased his artistry to a sold-out crowd at Yeh Nah Festival in Brisbane this March, Huey’s follow-up single, “The Chase”, is to be released on August 17th.
Huey is no stranger to the stage, having been a key player in a number of bands who supported the likes of The Rubens, Gang of Youths, Jungle Giants & Last Dinosaurs.
His new solo project presents an exciting direction that showcases the young producer’s multi-instrumentation, with a voice & writing style so smooth it is incredibly reminiscent of soulful ‘70s pop.

His first single, “Switchblade”, introduced this nostalgic sound with acclaim both in Australia and overseas. Now, “The Chase” is ready to impress.
“The Chase” – Huey’s second single – was recorded in Byron Bay, Australia, with producer Jake Walsh and features saxophonist Sean McKenzie.
The track follows a relationship in turmoil. “The thrill of the chase” begets unruly behavior. When bad decisions perpetuate on both sides, the strongest of bonds can eventually crumble.
