Mikäel is an artist and songwriter from Sweden. His sound is a modern blend of pop with various influences, including rock music and electronica.

The mercurial and unpredictable style of this music has often earned him comparisons with performers the likes of David Bowie, David Sylvian, A-ha, and many more. While he normally writes in Swedish, Mikäel set out to make his foray into the English language music world by releasing his new project, Underground, a stunning example of his lyrical flow and vision. His new single, “Stay Away” is a great example of his sonic vision. The song comes from a very deep moment of self-reflection for the artist, who channeled a downtime in his life, using songwriting as a form of self-therapy, to help himself deal with many issues in his life. As a result, the music sounds very personal, but also very emotionally coherent and easy to relate to for listeners from all walks of life.
