Zoo is the second release from the project (following 2016’s i2 m1) and is Act 2 of the story of The Void. it’s not a concept album though; it is just a reflection of the ongoing story. “It’s 20 songs, each one made for a year of my life, just like J Dilla’s Donuts,” Irene explains.

Spanning 20 tracks and ranging in stylistic tone from acoustic-led lushness (“Rusted”) to dazzling synth-pop (“Illusion”) and murky post-punk (“The Glass Bubble”), Zoo is a very fun and eclectic ride. An immediate standout is “Illusion”, a slice of electronic pop that utilizes Pet Shop Boys’ “My October Symphony”, with serene vocals and a building hook that centers around the track’s opening lines. Nostalgia and creativity merge on the captivating Zoo.
