I wrote this song when I was living in London in 2015. The second I played the chords on the piano I felt like I had to sing on it. It was the first track I tried to sing on so it has a lot of processing on the vocals; I had no idea what I was doing in those days. I basically forgot about the song for a year until I was working in a studio in a cabin in Yosemite forest where I heard it again and decided to finish it. That’s where all the sampled birdsong comes from at the start. The song also has a load of world instrumentation, including my Kalimba a friend gave me from Zimbabwe and a dan moi. Out of all the songs I’ve ever released this one is probably the most personal. I’ve been playing it live for about a year and I’m so excited to finally share it with you. New ep coming feb 9 <3
