Tread a hill of marble
My feet in sandals blistered

Swam a sea of drifting bliss
The sun it shone a brilliance
Draught the ocean’s briny taste
and rippling waves of silence

The deepest blue the desert night
The moon bright white reflected eyes
I recognized that lonesome arbor
The valley of subconscious

Cold sand sifts between your toes
Are cut on stones like razors
Cackles carry ‘cross the gorge
On a choral echo vapor

And when she sidles up to me
Her voice and laughter flutters
Her flashing eyes and lips and teeth
The aura of the ancients

I thought I’d seen this scene before
The sacred script carved in the sky
Glinting edges, constellations
Saw the dawning of the morning
